Alaska

We got back from Alaska yesterday morning. We went out to visit my brother Jeff and his wife Amy. It was a nice break filled with hiking, lots of yummy food, relaxing, games and quality time! Even though we are still recovering from our flight home (it was a red eye and we didn't sleep much), it was such a relaxing time away. Some vacations are packed with things to do and people to see, other vacations are just for laying around... this one had a nice balance of both! Especially with our hectic schedules here at home, we needed some down time. It helps when you have a kid that needs a nap every day... why not take a nap too?!?!

We did get out and do some things too. We went to the Alaska Zoo (saw some wildlife there since we didn't see any out-and-about this time). We went on some beautiful hikes and walked along the coastal trail. In Anchorage they have a Saturday market with local artists, food and music. We had great weather most of the time. We spent a lot of time playing outside.

Jeff and I are really close, so it's always hard to say goodbye. We are thankful we got the opportunity to hang out with them for a week. Now it's catching up on LOADS of laundry and getting back in to the routine of work and summer fun!

Here are some pics of our trip although they don't do the Alaska beauty justice

View from the house

Isaiah's first trip to Alaska

Playing with Uncle Jeffy outside. They had a lot of good play time together!

Thunderbird Falls Hike

Isaiah spent a lot of time in the backpack! He likes it even though he doesn't look like it here

The Thunderbird Fall

Yes, there is an official "Duck Pond" in Eagle River, AK
We went to go feed the ducks

I thought this sign was funny at the Duck Pond

Isaiah ate the bread instead of feeding it to the ducks! what can I say?!... he's a growing boy!

Backpack... again

Ask Jeff how he felt about the Polar Bears. He was so excited that he still was talking about it the next day! They are pretty amazing and huge!

We still got to see a moose!

11:30 at night. Note the guy raking his leaves to the left...only in Alaska!

Air Guitar? Maybe Jeff showed him a few tricks!

Coastal Trail.

Pro Lawn Game Athletes!
