Joel and I love to go camping. We thought it was time to try and take Isaiah on his first camping trip, so last week we headed up to Rocky Mtn. National Park for a night. We went up with our good friends Megan and Kelby. It was beautiful up there and we had a really good time. We did a little hike, had great campfire food and had smores! yum.
Isaiah LOVED being up there. He was in his element with rocks and sticks and dirt... a little boys dream! Isaiah also loves being around Megan and Kelby... they spoil him! He was having so much fun until about Midnight. He fell asleep around 7:30 and he slept really good until he woke up in the middle of the night. He would not calm down, I think he was just really scared because it was so pitch dark, he wasn't at home or in his pack n' play. Anyway, since we didn't want to be one of "those parents" with the crying baby at the campsite, we ended up taking him home in the middle of the night. At least we were only about 45 mins. away. We were bummed it didn't work out, but we did get a really good day in and at least we tried. I don't think we will take him again until next summer. I think he will be at a better age to understand what is going on. I do know some of you parents have taken young kids that are Isaiah's age, so if you have a secret... let me know! Until then, it will just be Joel and I camping and Isaiah will stay with Grammy and Papa!
Despite the late night travel home, we had a really good time and got some good pictures!
