I have been wanting to get a new bike ever since Joel and I moved to Colorado. It just seems like it always takes the back burner. Something else always takes the priority.
So this is what we ride:
So this is what we ride:
My brother and I rode these bikes when we were growing up! Both probably were purchased late 80's maybe early 90's. I don't know if the picture does it justice. Mine is the super rad turquoise bike complete with "splatter paint." Joel has the gray one with black splatter paint (which was very "in" at the time). When I am riding mine, I feel like I should have a walkman on listening to New Kids on the Block and wearing a high side pony tail. My back breaks don't work and there are only 2 gears that it goes in to- really easy and really hard.
Keep in mind that it is borderline illegal in CO to ride a "ghetto" bike. People really... I mean REALLY care about their bikes here. But it all comes down to 1 thing right now.
They were free.

We put new tires on them last year, bought a $10 bike seat for Isaiah and off we go! And, guess what? They still serve their purpose...
Isaiah loves going for bike rides. He is even wearing his Run DMC shirt to go with the 80's theme (not done on purpose)
We often complain about not having a backyard, but this is our backyard for now. It's an 8 mile nature trail around a beautiful reservoir... really can't complain, it's gorgeous!
Perfect view of the mountains
I like biking with this guy... he is cute.
We go almost every morning. I love getting out on that trail, breathing in the fresh summer air.
So until we are able to get new bikes, we are happy being big dorks bikin' 80's style.
