Bye Bye Appendix

It started on Saturday morning. I didn't feel good at all; nautious, tummy ache, tired... just sick feeling. My first thought was, "I better not be pregnant!" I got through the day, still going to work and taking care of Isaiah. It wasn't like it was that bad.

On Sunday morning, I felt great. Joel and I had a wonderful morning running errands, being in the sun and going out to lunch. I felt fine until around 12:30 in the afternoon. I got really nautious again and then started getting some bad pains in my upper abdomen. I went home, laid down, tried some different medicines and nothing put a dent in the pain I was getting. I was thinking this is the worst acid reflux I have ever had! I did have Spicy Pickle for lunch, so I figured it was that. After about 6 hours of being in pain and it getting worse, Joel took me to the ER. I remember thinking this was so stupid and silly to be going to the EMERGENCY ROOM for a stomach ache. We had waited a long tome to see the doc and I knew it was because they were probably rolling their eyes at the girl that came in with "gas" pains. Well after several tests including a cat scan it was very evident it was appendicitis. They went in right away to take out my appendix. I had surgery at 1am. I was home the next morning by 11am. Thank God we went in, even though we thought it was a silly tummy ache. Things would have turned out much worse if my appendix had burst.

I am feeling pretty good today, actually moving around a bit. I have been on some pretty heavy pain killers, so I am trying to ween off those so I am not so groggy. The worst part of all this is that I can't lift anything over 10lbs for a week. Isaiah is 26 lbs. He has been acting very confused with this whole situation. Joel has been a huge help though... taking care of the house, me and Isaiah. He is awesome ... and so patient.

Anyway, just thought we would update on the situation. We appreciate your prayers for a quick recovery and peace for Isaiah (and more patience for poor Joel).
